View tracks in an iTunes Genius Mix playlist

I don't believe the hint is correct. What appears to be happening is:

When the genius symbol is clicked, a genius playlist is created based on the currently playing song. The next song played is from the genius playlist, not from the genius mix.

Here's how I verified this. I started playing a genius mix and clicked on the genius symbol and saw a genius playlist just as the hint described. I opened a separate window with this genius playlist. I then went back to the main itunes window and started playing a different song from my music library. I switched back to genius mixes and hit play on the same genius mix that I had originally started with.

The song that played was not in the genius playlist that was opened in the separate window. The genius mix and the genius playlist based on a song from the mix were independent.

I find the genius mixes to be too flawed to be much use. Genius ignores the ratings of songs which I have spent a great deal of time assigning. Further it ignores the genre which I have assigned or which comes from the CDDB. Instead it appears to assign genre based on the artists name. So I find that the classical guitarist named John Williams is taken to be the same as John Williams the composer of the music for Star Wars and many other movies. In Genius mixes, John Williams the classical guitarist is played in the soundtrack mix. Another example is an old album of Hoyt Axton singing folk songs. Genius knows that Hoyt is a country singer and plays him in the country mix, never in folk or singer/songwriter. Some genius Genius. (BTW I long ago submitted bug reports on these flaws but there is no sign that anything will ever be done about them.)

Huh. It seemed to work when I tried it out but my testing was hardly exhaustive. I suppose it was just a fluke then, if most of you are having trouble reproducing this.

Maybe the author will comment; but if not I'll probably delete this if people can't get it working.
