Why not Browse?
I'm afraid I don't quite get it... the browse option would seem to provide this functionality quite handily, allowing you to select an artist and then choose an album of theirs to listen to. No need to make a playlist for later disposal, unless you're keen to order the tracks in a particular fashion.
Why not Browse?
Using the search box has the advantage of being usually faster than browse, because it's all keyboarding. It should be mentioned however, that Search happens only on columns displayed, typically Song name, Artist and Album. Add Genre to the mix and you can search (for instance) "jazz davis" to find all the Miles Davis jazz in your collection. Other interesting permutations are possible; however, Search only searches text fields - Song name, Alblum, Artist, Genre, Comment, Composer, Equalizer (yes) and Kind. Playlists based in part on numeric fields (like year) require a Smart Playlist. |
