10.5: Problems with Mail's bouncing icon and the Dock
Authored by: flashcoder on Apr 10, '11 03:07:46AM

Ok I know this is old topic I have came across but its now 10.6.7 and the problem still is exists. The Skype icon does absolutely the same. On a 13-inch MacBook with 1280x800 I do find it useful to have dock hidden to have more space on the screen and if some program needs my attention the icon brilliantly bounces from under the hidden dock just to let me know that either a new mail has arrived or someone on Skype needs my attention. It is just so wonderful that only because of that I almost love Apple more than Microsoft, it does that all by itself without the need for extra software to be installed.
If only the bouncing worked reliably. When you bring up the dock you see the the icon is bouncing but once you have touched the dock, the bouncing icon disappears as the dock hides. And never comes back unless a another application decides to bounce its icon.

Someone in Apple please please please fix this brilliant feature!
