I actually often use the web inspector to make some visual touch ups to pages before I print them. Usually just removing ads and such (like the previous poster), but one could potentially do almost anything, since many websites don't have good print stylesheets.

If you print a lot, check out my QuickNuke extension for Safari. You can hide elements with a click and a keystroke. Even better, you can "isolate" one element, which hides everything except that element—perfect for printing.

there's also a cross-browser bookmarklet called Printliminator

There is a simple javascript tool available online, Printliminator, that lets you hide the parts of a web page you don't want to print (or save) with a simple click.
It's really handy and I use it a lot.

Why not just use Reader? Or some other service? Most of those things work automatically and without having to go through manually for each element. |
