Another Way to Alter the Menu

Here is another way for anyone who has problems quitting the Finder or for any other reason.

Boot into 9 and follow the path to System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj. Back up the Localized.rsrc file by using the Duplicate Contextual Menu. (Option drag would not copy it for me)

Download QuickConvert

Launch QuickConvert and choose the Localized.rsrc file. Then open the Localized.rsrc file in ResEdit and alter the MENU resource #140 and delete the "Go".

Then Launch QuickConvert again and choose the Localized.rsrc file. This will revert the file back to it's original state. You can check to see if it worked properly by trying to open the file in ResEdit. If it says there are no resources it worked.

Now boot back into X and check out your work.
