iPad Charging
Authored by: arizdave on Feb 07, '11 10:57:50AM

Here’s an interesting WTF

I have a newer 27” iMac and the HD partitioned with Mac OS 10.6.6 & the other partition with Windows 7 / bootcamp. The iPad (plugged into any USB port) ALWAYS shows “charging” the iPad on the Mac side no mather what program - including itunes sync, sleep/wake et al. But when I restart into the “Windows 7” still plugged into the same USB port the iPad ALWAY show as “NOT CHARGING”. go figure ???

iPad Charging

That's probably because Windoze doesnt "know" about high power ports. It just sees the ports as standard USB, thus supplying the normal maximum of 500ma. I do get the ports on my 27" Apple LED display supplying high power under Windoze 7 however, and my iPad displays "charging". Go figure :P
