Opening files in an already running gimp
Authored by: Bishop on Sep 28, '02 10:15:59AM
As talked about on the XonX forums there actually is a way of having files open in an already running gimp, do a 'man gimp-remote'. It should be an easy thing to change this in XL. The problem is that if gimp isn't running this will fail to open the image file (or at least I think so). About other applications such as gv I'm not sure if there is a way but the one open application per file is actually what happens in "normal" X11 environments also.

As pointed out by Michel Galle

"if you use gimp-remote -n it will launch gimp if you have no gimp actually launched."
