Make files appear as Audiobooks in iTunes 10

d1taylor, you say that you "set 'vocal' as equalizer preset to maximize the audio quality."

There is "spoken word" and there is "vocal booster" as equalizer preset choices in iTunes 10.x. I choose "spoken word" for audiobooks. Unless the voice needs boosting, of course. ;)

Oops, you're right, "spoken word" is indeed the equalizer preset I used. :-)

Well, so long as I have your attention, I should clarify/correct the other part of your comment, too.

In iTunes when you take a track and change it's "media kind" to "audiobook" (and do nothing else,) you'll notice that yes, it now appears properly as an Audiobook.

However - the "remember playback position" and "skip when shuffling" options also get grayed out for those tracks, because, one presumes, they are enabled BY DEFAULT for audiobooks.
