Aliases in FaceTime for Mac

This is awesome! However, this only launches FaceTime, ready to call the selected person. Any way to get FaceTime to automatically press the green FaceTime button to initiate the call? It would be great if we could get FaceTime to automatically initiate the call as well.

I am sure that someone deft with Automator could work this out quite quickly.

This is probably a security feature. Otherwise, any random webpage/application could open and connect a facetime call on your computer.

The beta app doesn't have an AppleScript Dictionary, but something like the Automator Virtual Input extension or QuicKeys or a similar program should let you do this.

It wouldn't be a stretch to think the release version will be scriptable. iChat has an extensive AppleScript Dictionary, so it's certainly doable.

They probably put the beta app together on short notice for the event. Hence the early security bug with the AppleID.
