Uh, no it doesn't. Or, at least, it doesn't work for me with the latest iOS 4 on my iPhone 4. I just tried this with an app that displays a home screen when first launched, but does not if it's launched while already running.

Perhaps I should have clarified that the slide to power off screen will disappear and you will drop back to your application icons if you performed the steps successfully. Did this happen with you?

Yep, I get dropped back to the home screen with the app icons. But running applications did not quit. |
