Other way
Just deleting the plugin from the Mozilla.app package (as described in 3.) instead of replacing it will make Mozilla use Apple's Java plugin which also works for most stuff (had no problems so far).
Other way
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a tremendous number of Java related crashes with Moz 1.1 and OSX 10.2. I had fixed many by upgrading to Moz 1.2a. But had one persistent crash when exiting the National Weather Service's java based radar loops. I've tried Moz 1.1 and the Java Plug-in 1.01 but that one crash test continued to fail. This is the only one that has resolved that crash.
deleting vs. replacing
Deleting the Plugin inside the Mozilla.app package is fine for 10.2. I guess the new MRJ 1.0.1 Pluggin is only needed for compatibility of the whole Mozilla 1.1 package with OS versions below 10.2. Therefore, I don't understand why the release version of Mozilla 1.1 still contains the Jaguar-misfunctional 1.0 Plugin...
deleting vs. replacing
They don't know! We should send them a letter!
Other way
I am having some crashes with Netscape 6.2 under jaguar. Is this the same problem, and if it is, I am not clear on where to find the package that needs to be deleted. My confusion is connected to not knowing whether Netscape and Mozilla are synonyms. |
