Snow Leopard "Feature"

Unfortunately, in Snow Leopard any time you open the Print menu, OS X wakes up your printer, creating wear-and-tear as well as wasting energy as a laser printer's hot roller heats up.
Really? Does this only apply to laser printers? My inkjet, which still has a 30 second long 'warm-up' process never starts until I hit the Print button in the dialog. Anyway I'm sure there has to be some kind of setting for this somewhere... They can't force you to wake up all your printers every time you choose print... That's like waking all the shared computers on your network every time you open a new finder window.
