Very poorly constructed survey
Authored by: lionel77 on Jun 16, '10 05:45:13PM

I, too, only made it halfway through before I became too annoyed to continue.

The questionnaire is very, very poorly constructed. Some questions don't include the most obvious options. For instance, the "reason for visiting the website" question only lists "Looking for a solution to a problem", "Sharing your knowledge", and "Visiting the forums" as explicit options, but doesn't include an option for people who just visit the page regularly to catch up on the most recent hints (which I would think is one of the biggest if not the biggest group of people).

The five favorite topic page is just plain awful, as others have already pointed out. At that point I realized that the survey was not about improving the page, but about collecting information for advertisers. I don't have an issue with that per se, but if the execution is that terrible, I do not feel compelled to complete the survey.

I love macosxhints and I visit the page daily, but the next time you want to run such a survey, please ask if you can see the questions in advance, so you can do some damage control. ;)
