Solve a Mac Mini invalid resolution issue after install
Authored by: mikezang on May 23, '10 05:10:59AM

Hi, all experts

I am a newbie for Mac, I have a lot of years experience about Windows. I bought a Mac mini (later 2009) yesterday and connect it to my Sharp AQUOS TV using a Mini DisplayPort + USB sound to HDMI adapter with a HDMI cable.

After I boot my mini, the TV shows "Invalid video signal, check input signal" then black screen.

I guess the reason might be my AQUOS only supports 1080i (not 1080p) and Mac mini set default HDMI to 1080p automatically.

Then I have only a USB wireless keyboard, so that I can boot in safe mode, and my AQUOS have 2 HDMI, one d4,one s2 and one VGA ports, the VGA and mini plug are used by my ThinkPad, so I have to use other ports, what can I do?

Yesterday was a bad night for my first Mac night!

Please help me, all of you , Mac experts!

By the way, I went to Apple Store, they didn't have AQUOS and not solve my problem, that is very sad, now my Mac mini is just the box!
