Convert WMA files to other formats with a free app

Hi all,

It's nice to learn about the Flip4Mac bug since Switch is such a useful little program...

...but if you don't feel like going to the trouble of downgrading Flip4Mac, try this:

In QuickTime Player version 10 (Snow Leopard) open a .wma file (you need Flip4Mac to play .wma files in QuickTime) then choose File, Save As, and select Movie. It will convert the audio to an .mov file (encoding stays the same), it takes about 45 seconds per song.

The cool part is that If you drag that .mov file into iTunes it understands the file is 'audio-only' and puts it in the Music section in the source list ('../Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music' folder). Using Switch to convert the converted .mov file to .mp3 still crashes because the encoding is still Windows Media Audio.
