Command Key needed

For browsing the hierarchy of the folders (going up and down levels in the folders), one needs to hold down the Command Key.

Command Key needed

Hmmm,

on my machine running 10.1.5, using the command key and down arrow drills down through folders in list view, opening each one in a new window. On the way back it does exactly the reverse, until I get to to the root level of the machine (ie where you go if you click "my computer" in a window).

Then if you keep using command up arrow it selects all items in the list and then, if you use command down arrow, it opens windows for them all in the finder. Hard disks are opened in column view, everything else (cd's etc) in icon view.
