Extract a complete ISO from an encrypted DVD
To be clear, this will make a COMPLETE 1:1 and still ENCRYPTED copy of that DVD. There is NOTHING in diskutil that will decrypt the DSS encryption. This is the reason that when you put that data back into a DVD it plays without any trouble.
To be clear, if you take that reburnt DVD and you use a tool such as Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr) to convert the movie portions to some other format: on a Mac it can use VLC to 'decrypt' the video stream before conversion, but if you do the same thing on a PC it cannot as the linking and decryption tools were removed from Handbrake and as such it will complain that 'the disk is still encrypted, please decrypt' first. Handbrake cannot convert an ENCRYPTED DVD due to DSS rules which are enforced by the DMCA. IANAL, but remember: decrypting a DVD is still illegal even if it is as a backup/archive copy. The DMCA states you cannot legally circumvent an ENCRYPTION for ANY REASON, even if you are legally entitled to the data BENEATH that encryption. The reason this works on a Mac is that Diskutil does not remove DSS, but still allows for backups and restoration of that backed up data. This is the best of both worlds. AFAIK *nix and (I know) Windows cannot do this.

@Cerberus Please read step 1. This will create an unencrypted dvd because of Fairmount. Please at least read down to step 1 and 2 before commenting.
