Create a shared mounted volume for all users of a Mac
Authored by: lsequeir on Mar 02, '10 03:09:03AM

A simple solution to have a volume shared by all users of a mac is simply to have the boot drive partitioned, so that one (or more) partitions are set with "Ignore ownership on this volume".

Just partition the drive as you wish, select the icon for the desired volume(s) in the Finder, Cmd-I and tick the appropriate checkbox in the Get Info window. Boom!
No problem with sharing files, with or without fast user switching. It just works. I have been doing this for years.
