This has probably been said before, but here's my take:

My girlfriend has a 4+ yr old 17" Dell laptop that's slowly dying (display issues). She mostly uses my Windows 7 desktop now and her iPod touch.

This product is perfect for her. She'll get her mobile computing via iPad and full computing via my desktop.

This product is horrible for me. I have a MacBook (1G unibody) and (the aforementioned) Windows 7 desktop.

In fact, I think the iPad is great for anyone who doesn't really, really need a full computer (parents, grandparents, kids, siblings).

Now, it doesn't allow you to keep 6 different apps open at once, but other than listening to music while doing something else, how much more multitasking does the common person need?

I have 6 apps open right now and my display is full of Numbers. I'm not really multitasking right now, am I?
