iPhone remembers volume for headphones and speakers
Authored by: Hermi on Jan 07, '10 09:34:35PM

The iPhone is truly remarkable in this respect. My 3GS remembers individual volume settings for:
1. Apple In-ear headphones (60% volume).
2. Standard 3G earphones (70%).
3. Stereo cable for my car (100%).
4. Unplugged (5%).
I am very impressed with this ability. I guess the iPhone makes a resistance or capacitance measurement to figure out which cable is attached? Both cables 1 and 2 have the same jack, so something more complicated than the type of connector is being used.
