You need both command-line tools to get this done: xattr and fsaclctl You can check for their presence with these commands:

sudo which xattr

sudo which fsaclctl

If either of these is not found, you'll need to get it first.

fsaclctl is no longer part of the system under 10.6, so it must be restored from a 10.5 backup; But it is a bit crude anyway when I've got some spare time I may check out the proper way of removing and restoring the extended attributes for each file individually.

There are no problems...
