Create disk images from DVD movies for longer playback
In fact, you can choose to backup your DVD movies to .dvdmedia (Note: .dvdmedia is a DVD Player media file, which can be played by Apple DVD Player directly).
Software that can help you backup DVD to .dvdmedia file is DVD Backup for Mac. Free try it now, you may love it.

Just to add to this comment, the dvdmedia 'file' is actually a folder that contains the VIDEO_TS folder and has a .dvdmedia extension. IE. If you have ripped a DVD and gotten a VIDEO_TS folder, then if you add ".dvdmedia" to the folder containing the VIDEO_TS folder (not to the VIDEO_TS folder itself) then the OS will show the folder as a package/file that will open in DVD Player. Conversely, if you have a .dvdmedia file and remove the extension then it will display as a folder. (While it still has a .dvdmedia extension you can right/ctrl click it and choose Show Package Contents to see the folder contents.) |
