Proxy Icon
Authored by: fbitterlich on Nov 11, '09 08:48:58AM

This functionality is supposed to work in all windows/applications that display a "proxy icon" (ie. the small document icon) next to the window title. Mails behavior is unique only in the "path" it displays: it shows the mailbox folder location, not the document location on disk.

Try it with other document-based apps (Pages, TextEdit, MS Word and such) - it works there as well. And you can (almost) always drag the little document icon just about anywhere to either move, copy or alias the "document" in question to that location.

The window-title-popup works even in Safari, even though there is no proxy icon.
