Use one iTunes 9 library from two Macs at once
Authored by: u2mr2os2 on Oct 17, '09 11:31:10AM

Not working for me. I have my iTunes library (files and database) in the shared folder with special ACLs to make the sharing magic happen and persist. However, I can't open the database from more than one iTunes 9.0.1 at a time. It is quite common to confuse sharing the music folder with sharing the database. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure why this doesn't work for you. But it does work in a read-only fashion.

I currently have three Macs all accessing the same iTunes library. (I'm using iTunes 8.2.1, but given this hint, I suspect iTunes 9 will be the same.) Any changes made to the iTunes library by two of the Macs is lost upon quit, but read-only operations work fine.

What error message do you get when the second Mac tries to access the library?
