I'd also recommend giving Jolly's Fast VNC a try. It's a much faster client than Screen Sharing, and with some tricks up its sleeve too, such as different ways of scaling the screen.

I used to think Jollys was faster than Screen Sharing. But now it seems the reverse is true. Maybe it's just because I only connect to other Mac VNC servers at the moment, but Screen Sharing allows me to use my Mac mini in almost real-time...heck, I could almost watch video on it.

Jollys is very, very fast, but for me at least, Screen Sharing has a slight speed advantage.

Screen sharing Mac-to-Mac isn't VNC. Don't confuse it just because it has a VNC compatibility layer.
