No, actually I think you are the only person I've ever heard of who takes 'advantage' of this Apple OS characteristic. Most people don't drag installer disk images to the trash can to determine if it's still running!

I'm not dragging it to the trash to determine if it is still running. I am just ejecting it without going through the steps first to make sure that everything on it is closed, as Mac OS X will not let me do it if something is open anyway.
