10.6: Install QuickTime Player 7 to black out other displays

Can someone help educate more all about QuickTime. With Leopard, I just had the generic QuickTime (I guess QuickTime 7). It had various greyed out features. These features could be had for a $29.99 investment to turn this basic QT to QT Pro. I never had the need to migrate to QT Pro.

Now, I have upgraded to Snow Leopard, and I simply have an app called QuickTime Player. I have QuickTime 7. (I believe this was an optional install from the Snow Leopard disc.) QT 7 still has the optional buy-me features.

SO, now what exactly is QuickTime X?
