On the bright side, you don't need a QuickTime Pro key any more to take advantage of the editing features in QuickTime Player 7 (more value for your $29)
not true: QT is automatically registered as "pro" only if the SL installer has found a "pro" licence in one of your disks when installing. Otherwise, you stay with a "non pro" unregistered version !

If you had a license and the installer failed to transfer it, launch QTP 7, select Registration from the QTP menu, enter the QT Pro registration number, and hit the Tab key. That should activate it into the Pro version.
