Nearly the same, except today's hint poster adds the detail about creating the symbolic link.

BTW, before Tiger, I could use aliases that referred to a folder on an encrypted sparseimage. When I selected one of those folders, at print time, OSX would mount the disk and present me with the password dialog... then it would print the PDF to that folder.

After I upgraded to Tiger, that stopped working. Print to PDF would make no error messages or protests. The only reason I knew it wasn't printing to PDF was because my disk image didn't mount, nor was I prompted to give its password. I don't recall when, exactly, this stopped working.

If I mount the disk image before printing, the PDF does arrive in the proper folder, though, so now those extra steps are part of my routine.
