DoubleCommand disables most keys after Transfer
Authored by: ppp on Jul 29, '09 08:57:13AM

I recently had a frustrating problem after using Migration Assistant to move from an older MacBook Pro to a new one. DoubleCommand apparently doesn't know about the latest keyboard on the MacBook Pro, and disabled or problematically remapped most keys. The symptoms were unresponsive keys, locked up applications after pressing certain keys (Force Quit and Command-Tab worked to get out of these situations).

Fortunately I was able to disable DoubleCommand without the use of the keyboard. Removing the Preference Pane and the /Library/Startup Items folder, then restarting were all that was necessary.
