Use a shortcut to reach iPhone 3.0's search screen
I'd really just like to repeat something I said earlier. This site is for advanced users and beginners, so just because you already know something, or you think lots of people know something, that is not a reason to complain about the hint being posted. I'm tired of seeing comments that imply a certain level of "elegibility" for a hint, as if only superhacks and brand new features should be posted. If a hint hasn't been mentioned here, on this very site, then it's fair game and prudent to add it to the huge base of useful knowledge, whether or not you approve. I send a great many beginners to this site to pick up rudimentary tips, and I really don't want them to get discouraged when power users make fun of simpler well known hints. Just move on, and keep your trap shut. Pretty please.

I agree, there is certainly room for hints at ALL levels of expertise. As a fairly advanced user, even if I already know a basic hint, it helps to be reminded of it. Or I often learn something from the comments. Except of course the snide, Comic-Book-Guy-ish ones that are only meant to show how "superior" the writer thinks he is. If anything is a waste of time and space it's the sarcastic sniping.
Allow me to explain
Since I am the one who said 'this is not a hint', let me try to exlain what I meant to say. |
