Also there is VideoVangelist for OS X which is a universal binary and will not only convert the files to DVD but to many other formats too. All the necessary libraries are there and for only $10.00 it'll save you a ton of work. http://www.whimsplucky.com/videovangelist

These, I believe, are significant differences between the output of the method described in the hint and the output of Videovangelist.

Videovangelist can't output 5.1 (6 channel) audio.
Frame rate cannot be maintained at 24 fps, which, IMO at least, is the only way to preserve original motion quality.
