It's certainly less accurate than GPS, but it's not way less accurate with my experience with the 1st gen iPhone. I assume it's because it also uses cell towers to figure out where it is, and not just the far less accurate Wi-Fi as the iPod Touch does.

Sure, I suppose it's different for everyone, depending on the place and a bunch of other variables.

Me, I've stood beside a friend with his GPS phone, showing his location to within about 20 feet, while my first-gen phone was barely able to get the right neighbourhood.
