Eject any disc even if system cannot boot
You could also press and hold the left Mouse or Trackpad button when starting your computer. Any CD/DVD will then eject.
Eject any disc even if system cannot boot
That trick even works for floppies.. that's how old it is.
Eject any disc even if system cannot boot
Yep, that's why the trick was created in the first place. In the early days of the Mac (the original 128K Mac and the 512K, probably even the Plus days), it was not uncommon to have a floppy that contained your OS and the app you wanted to run. If you wanted to boot off of a different floppy than the one in the drive, just hold down the mouse button as you boot. You'd then see the flashing question mark, and pop in your new floppy!
Eject any disc even if system cannot boot
Years ago an editor friend had an old Mac that needed to start up with a different floppy disk. No matter what was tried, the Mac kept ejecting the floppy, restart after restart. |
