Burn an AVI movie with subtitles to a DVD in one step

Perian's subtitle feature has *never* worked for me. I've tried different subtitle formats, but nothing works. Guess it must be the above mentioned bug.

Is there a way to convert the DOS carriage returns so the subtitles work with Perian?

you could try TextWrangler and strip out and replace the carriage returns

I've never had problems with this, but the following article touches on this. I typically use the dos2unix tool (in MacPorts) for converting files.

I tried converting the .srt file to have both Mac and Unix carriage returns and line endings. Neither helped.

For whatever reason, Perian won't display subtitles on either of my two Macs running Leopard.
