Interesting? Sorta. "Cool"? No, not really.

If you're using a wired remote, you're sitting right next to your Mac anyway. It's easier to simply use the spacebar to start and stop playback, arrow keys for frame stepping, and option+arrow to jump to start/end of selection/chapter/entire video.

No offense intended, but I wish stuff like this would appear in a different listing, separated from tips that are actually useful to anyone.

Well Cool to me in that it is a new way to interact with a useful program...

As you so eloquently point out, cool is relative; what is cool to one, is not to another.

To filter the list based on one or another's definition (as you suggest) is misguided, IMO :)
