Haha you were torrenting files faster than the system could index them?! And then the fix is to turn off indexing?! This was great.

Guns, try download 10,000 pdf/chm ebooks sometime. After a few of those, your Mac will slow to a crawl.

... try importing them into DevonThink Pro, or maybe Yep ... download some trials. I love DTPro because I don't have to open anything to see its contents, PDFs included.

Same here. i got an amazon kindle and went crazy on e-books. System was so slow, then I realized there were thousands of files it was re-indexing every time the torrent program updated a small section. It also goes into zip files etc.

Actually even when I was finished downloading and was seeding the spotlight processes were still using 60% so it had nothing to do with the speed of my downloading. |
