A collection of additional Safari 4 Beta hidden settings
Wow. Top Sites is a great way to bring the internet to its knees. What a stupid idea. How can one tell from a thumbnail whether or not there's anything interesting on a web page that's mostly text? Luckily I can turn that whole feature off and get rid of the stupid icon. And I can turn off top tabs and restore a unified look and user experience to my OS. Both ideas suck. I guess they're really letting the NeXT monkeys loose at Apple these days.

That was my initial reaction too, but after a few days' use I can see that the Top Sites thumbnail is the last impression of that site from the cache. It isn't being reloaded.

I like the Tabs-On-Top since it gives extra space that was only wasted with the old tabbar location, anyway. And the Topsites looks good and seems to be useful to me - what do you think causes more traffic, reloading a bunch of websites now and then or having one open torrent? There you go. |
