Toggle flash in Safari via plug-in
Authored by: corienti on Feb 14, '09 03:28:44AM

I use a simpler method.
I use Safari as my "stable", "serious" browser, and simply have plugins disabled completely (tickbox in preferences).
This gets rid of all videos.

When I hit a page that has a video I actually want to view (youtube, apple trailers, etc) I simply copy the URL and switch to Firefox and load the page in Firefox and view it there. I then close the page afterwards, and simply restart Firefox if it gets sluggish (as it normally has no windows open except when I'm watching something).

Toggle flash in Safari via plug-in

I do something similar, except I don't launch another browser. Just open Safari prefs and click "enable plug-ins" and reload page. Keyboard shortcut CMD-COMMA makes it quick, and Prefs opens to the last tab so it stays on Security.

Anybody have a thought on how to create a visible flag showing the "enable plug-ins" checkbox state, and then click to toggle it?
