Just Press OPTION
You have always been able to do this (at least in the last several versions of iPhoto) simply by holding OPTION key down when launching iPhoto...it will allow you to create a new Library or choose an exisiting one.

I was just about to say this... this has been true for a long time with the Option key. And in the previous version of iPhoto, libraries became double clickable (before that they were just seen as a folder by the Finder)... this is not new to iPhoto '09.

Yes, you could hold Option when opening iPhoto to manually choose a secondary iPhoto Library. |
