Just installed/tried Net Monitor and TCPFlow
Authored by: Codemonkey on Aug 28, '02 02:29:02AM

I've been watching the incoming light on my cablemodem flickering pretty constantly for the last couple of hours and concerned that I may have left something open, I installed these two apps. Net Monitor verified that there indeed was traffic incoming. The interface is perfect imho, and sits nicely in my menubar, next to my volume slider. The resources it takes up are negligable (~2% the last time I did a TOP) and it closely resembles any number of equally well done widgets for Linux desktop managers.

Not satisified with just the bandwidth graph, I ran TCPFlow - incredible!!! Very basic to operate if you just want to quickly grab packets... but can be _so_ much more powerful! View the man page for all the juicy details.

For anyone who cares: it turns out it's virus traffic wandering around looking for compromised Windows boxes. :-)
