Quicker tagging of video content for iTunes/iPhone
You can also use the free tool MetaX to tag your video files, which puts them in the appropriate category when you import them into iTunes.

MetaX does work, but it's not perfect either. MetaX also copies the whole file in the process of applying the tags, so it's not super quick, but it does leave just one file when it's done so you don't end up with duplicates. MetaX also does not convert formats so the file already needs to be in a right format. Additionally, TV show tagging is a little wonky because the tag fields displayed are better tuned to movie or music tagging (it's easy to not put the TV show's title in the right field and you end up with orphan shows not associated with its series).

There are several tabs in MetaX, one including tv related fields.
