Reduce loud trackpad click on Unibody portables

Doesn't this trackpad allow you to tap to click, without really pressing down the whole trackpad? I hardly ever use the button on my old MacBook (or any trackpad for that matter). I hope the new trackpad does not require one to actually press it down to click...?

If I were bothered by the sound then learning to tap might be a safer solution :-)

Don't worry - the new machines all support the same tap-click as the existing laptops have done for some time (System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > Trackpad > Tap to Click). No need to rely on a physical button if you don't want to. :o)

Yes, you can still tap to click. The tap with two fingers makes a right click.
