Older wireless Macs and D-Link wireless N routers

As an additional note I have a DIR-655 with the latest firmware and, although B and G work flawlessly, N does not work (at least with iMacs and Macbooks). It appears to work (succesfully negotiates) but once you actually start using the connection (like copying a big file) it consistently locks up after a few megabytes of traffic.

I've reported this problem to D-Link. I also found some note on the web stating that a very old version of the firmware (1.02 I believe) doesn't have this problem, but that version is no longer available on the D-Link web site.
