Some ways to use the iPhone during winter
Authored by: Mac Berry on Nov 27, '08 01:01:57AM

Interesting! I've just returned from a three day trip walking and camping in the English Lake District in sub-zero temperatures, and while the need to extend battery life, and the lack of any signal anyway, meant I left the iPhone in airplane mode, I did want to use it as my camera.

In reality though, this just proves that the iPhone wasn't the right tool for me, and possibly isn't for anyone who needs to work in gloves frequently (which modern phone would be?). None of the linked gloves would have been adequate on my trip, my nose was covered too, and sticking my tongue out in those conditions might not have been such a good idea, even if I could aim the camera properly that way!

Horses for courses I guess. Time to buy a digital camera with a big shutter release button!
