Print to an HP Laserjet 6L via a parallel-to-USB cable
Perhaps some clarification of terms is in order. You can print to HP printers with a generic USB to Parallel cable. I discovered this worked with my old HP 5MP, which is a PostScript printer. My fancy EtherJet device died (after 10 years) and I had no way to set up the old LocalTalk wiring on my Mac, in desperation I tried using an old generic USB cable from an old Epson inkjet. And it worked instantly, it was plug-n-play. I didn't even have to change drivers, the old 5MP driver recognized the device on its own.

Do you guys know if that happens to work with a Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS, too?

The 16/600 has an ethernet port - just plug that puppy into the network and you're good to go. |
