Bonjour address
Authored by: greenldr on Sep 30, '08 10:11:07PM

In the Air Sharing app, it shows two options for connecting: the IP address, and the Bonjour address (as long as you don't have any apostrophe or other characters in your iPhone/iPod name - if you do, then the device will not broadcast a Bonjour address...)
In the first line of the workflow script, just replace the IP address that is already there with the Bonjour name (xxxx.local), and then (with the device mounted using Air Sharing and Bonjour in the Finder) choose the drive as the save location in the last section of the workflow before saving it according to the tip...

PS. if you do have an apostrophe or other character in your iPhone name, just mount the device and then click on the name in iTunes and change it. You should now be able to see the Bonjour address in the Air Sharing app...

Bonjour address

Thanks for the description. I originally tried to use the Bonjour address when I wrote the script but I have an apostrophe in my device's name and I couldn't get it to work, so I used the IP address instead and had my router assign it a static IP address. I guess it makes sense that the apostrophe is a problem, but it didn't occur to me until your post. Thanks.
