Disable iTunes store arrow links in iTunes 8

Thanks, but no thanks. Those "useless" arrows allow you to go directly to all of an artist's albums by option-clicking on the arrow next to an artist, or the full album by option-clicking the arrow next to the song title. It's a very useful feature, actually.

It sure is, for those who want it. That's why iTunes 7 had it right: it was an easy-to-use preference, controllable by the user without any trickery. There's no rationale explanation ("simplifying the interface" ... right...) for eliminating the preference. If they felt it cluttered stuff up, they should have just moved it into the Advanced tab.

I agree that those arrows are tops for navigation... and there's an older macosxhints article which makes it better,
by reversing the logic: i.e., (normal) click to jump around our library, and option-click to jump to the iTunes store!

Modify the iTunes 4.5 link arrows' behavior
defaults write com.apple.iTunes invertStoreLinks -bool YES
