Show all events in iCal search results

OK. I tried doing this on my boss's computer. I'm able to select all the events. Great. I can copy them and it warns me that it's only going to copy the original occurrences - perfect! However, when I click on the calendar I want to paste them to, 'paste' in the edit menu is greyed out! What the heck? The calendar I'm copying from was created by google calendar and he is subscribed to it. Is that the source of the problem? Doesn't seem like it should be. Plus, it's being extremely slow. iCal seems worse than version 2.0.5, which was quirky, but usually reliable and let me do what I wanted to do after quitting and starting up again. It makes me not want to upgrade.
