An unexpected fix for odd iPhone troubles
Authored by: nickv2002 on Sep 03, '08 01:02:29PM

This has happened to me quite a few times, though I never got the "accessory was not compatible with iPhone" alert so it took me a while to figure it out. If you don't have compressed air handy you can try to plug and unplug headphones or blow it out yourself, but be sure to blow it out with compressed air when you get the chance.

Compressed air can push dust under the screen.
Be careful doing this.
It's better to use a Q-tip with a little (very little) rubbing alcohol.
Then use the air, but not directly using the "straw" as it will blow junk in places you don't want.
Once you get dust under the screen, it looks crappy.
I've seen people do this with all kinds of devices.
